About Us

Coastal Cleanup Corporation was founded in 2010 by George & Suzy Pappas. For over a decade, our group has partnered with Biscayne National Park, National Park Service to restore endangered loggerhead & green sea turtle nesting grounds within the park. To date, our volunteer group has helped remove over 200,000 pounds of marine debris from the coastal habitat, remove exotic vegetation that hinders nesting activity, monitor loggerhead nesting activity, and protect nests from predators. As a result of our conservation efforts on the nesting beaches, nesting success rates of these endangered sea turtles has improved significantly within the park.
